How do I download music to an SD card?

I have just purchased the Hifiman HM-601, which can store music onto an external flash card. Being a total novice, how do I transfer music files from my computer to the card? Do I need to buy a card reader; or can I simply put the card in the player, connect it to the computer, and choose to store my music to the card rather than the player's built in memory?

I would imagine you connect the HM-601 to your PC via USB with the SD Card installed in the HM-601 and the PC will recognise both the internal and external drives of the HM-601, simply drag and drop your files into the drive where your SD card is shown.
