Audiotrack Prodigy Cube + Ubuntu

Hi everyone

I'm looking for an USB DAC to improve my sound and I think that Audiotrak Prodigy Cube is perfect to my needs (especially considering the price), but I don't know if it will work under linux Ubuntu.

I'm going crazy trying to understand  if so.

Some where I read that the TE7022L chipset (TENOR's USB controller Chipset) is supported, but I don't know is this answer to the question.

Any Prodigy Cube owner here? Can you telll me if it works with ubuntu?

I am also intersted in any suggestion about other USB dac TESTED with linux, excluding SuperPro Dac 707 and Trends Audio ( too expensive for what they offer)

The Tenor chip abides by the "USB audio class 1.0" standard, if a PCM2704 works this should work AFAIK : http://www.gfec.com.tw/ics.php

Hello.

TENOR's said that it is supported with Linux, but the PRODIGY CUBE is incompatible with Linux.

Thanks.

sounds like they didn't succeed to configure ALSA..

I have used a Prodigy Cube on Linux and playback works perfectly, I have not tested if recording works as well.
The Prodigy Cube is not a piticularly good DAC, but better then a Prodigy 7.1 HiFi, but where is really shines is as a portable soundcard for laptops running off battery.

Adda, did you add any extra configuration? What linux distro do you use? Did you test the recording module?

I m thinking about buying this card but i want to ensure that will play in Ubuntu.

Thanks!

It's just plug and play no worries, I have not tested if recording works.

I have used it on Ubuntu and Linux Mint.

I don't have a Prodigy Cube anymore, my guess is that it will work without any trouble, incl. recording.

Thank you! Just a last question :) Did you use it on a laptop or desktop environment (i ve heared some power issues....)?

I used in on a ThinkPad T500 laptop and didn't notice any problems.

I wish I still had my Cube, very handy device for partable use.
