Hooking a sub up to M-audio Av-40's

Alright so im really digging the av 40's as a cheapish set of computer speakers for when im in the mood for speakers but i definitely miss some bass since im used to listening to my Denon D7000's. I then realized that i could add a decent 200ish$ active sub and get more bass and it would be clearer but i really don't know how i would go about hooking it up. I am running my Av40's with an RCA connection to this soundcard

What sort of cables would i need to use to hook my sub together to complete my speaker set-up.

I could also use some recommendations on a good sub i could get for 200 or less.

Thank you

P.s. only the RCA jacks are being used on my soundcard so everything else is free if it matters

Most subs have a pass through, so you would run the RCAs from the soundcard into the sub, and then RCAs out of the sub to the AV40s. I am not recommending this sub, but if you look at the pictures, you will see what I mean.

Not a problem. Not all subs will have that, but most should. I would just make sure whatever subs you decide to look at have that feature, to make it as easy on yourself as possible.
