Removable cable or not?

Was looking for some advise. Does anyone think there is a difference in sound between having a removable cable verse a direct connection to the drivers. I ask because I have a pair of Proline 650's, which have the removable cable. A while back I bought a blue dragon cable form Moon Audio and attached the ultrasone cable plug connector (there may be a technical term for that). However, someone once told me that if I got rid of the removable connector plug and just connected the cable directly to the drivers (splitting it, so each driver gets its own connection), I might get a better sound. Is that true? I know some people debate whether or not custom cables improve the sound or not, but no matter what cable I used (the blue dragon or the one that came with it) would it improve the sound? Thoughts?

Thanks,

A hardwired connection is always better than a plug. There's a physical bond with solder, not just a mechanical connection.

You asked if there's a difference in sound, and some people would claim to hear differences between connectors and hard-wired states - some claim to hear differences between soldering, welding and crimping, and some claim to hear differences between brands of solder.  Others find that kind of thing unlikely.  There's more reliability and physical integrity with a hardwired connection, but on the other hand accidents (a stepped-on cord, for instance) can have worse consequences if there's no easy break in the system.  On balance I would stick with the connector.
