Hi Everyone,

Is there a listing somewhere on this forum as to what are the sites where one can download or buy audiophile tracks? I am listing 2 that I know here:

1. www.hdtracks.com

2. www.referencerecordings.com

soundcloud.com

128k mp3 preview, and lossless downloads, not to mention everything is free.

Thanks! This looks like good stuff. And I love live recordings.

eMusic is not an "audiophile music site".

bandcamp.com

I hope they make it big and bury itunes.

Thanks a lot for posting these. I only have a pair of Creative Aurvana Live's, but the samples sound so good through them. Usually I just listen to mp3's, but these sound a lot better.

Free 24bit/96khz music downloads.

And also google binaural recordings as they are great for headphone testing. The ultrasone demo would be a good intro. Too lazy to link sorry.

Let's see...

Dacapo : http://www.dacapo-records.dk/en/

Naim : http://www.naimlabel.com/

Gimell http://www.gimell.com/

All of them are classical focused.

With Linn, the webpages designs are similar because they use same e-commerce engine (CC tech), lol.

And, recently I found out Deutsche Grammophon (with some Decca and old Philips included) has mp3/flac store : http://www.deutschegrammophon.com/

Remind you, the files from these folks are not properly tagged (missing album art, artists, CD #, track etc) so you will have to use your trusty mp3tag to tag the files again.

P.S : you can find Naxos from hdtrack,  which is already mentioned in first post.

I found out Passionato, yet another site dedicated to Classicial, contains majority of classical labels (Deutsche Grammophon, Decca, and so on). I believe this site has the biggest catalog for Classical music in CD quality (not MP3).

Site : http://www.passionato.com/

No high-definition (24bit) though.

Also, I found out a site that has tons of records from BIS records including some rare ones (with some 24bit ones)

http://www.eclassical.com/

At least, it seems, Classical labels finally caught up what was severely lacking in digital music download. Now I wonder when we ever will be able to download Beatles in 16bit/44.1 (let alone 24bit) in legal ways.
