are there any websites similar to pitchfork that gives out reviews/recommendations on rock music? i mean stuff like top 10 of the year and such and such?

 

im a noob.....

my fave is metacritic, which tallies up the reviews for most websites.

 

a very good indicator of consensus, with no specific bias (like pitchfork and indie rock.)

 

Dose movies and tv too.

I use "Rate Your Music" a lot. Don't know if it has what you're looking for (lists etc.), but it's worth checking out.

We try to review a good mix of genres, and give unbiased reviews of music (meaning just because we may not care for a particular genre doesn't mean we'll give an album a bad score.) We do tend to lean toward metal sometimes, simply because most of the labels that we work with that provide us with promotional materials are metal labels. But we do cover everything.
