My First Laptop Audio set-up

I need to upgrade my laptop to get good audio while lounging at home as I am being forced out of my man cave by kids!!

I think I understand what I need (want) by combing through the forums but want to be sure.

I want to verify the following...

I was thinking I could use an ibasso D12 hooked up to my DeLL USB to feed my cans ( my list below plus DT880's on the way).

This would mean I bypass my soundcard and use D12 as dac/amp?

If so.. does the d12 charge from USB when the flip the charge switch?

Thanks

Yes. Successfully connecting a DAC to your laptop will bypass its soundcard. I am not sure if the D12 charges while attached, but I assume that it runs completely off your laptop. Hope whatever you get works out.
