Comparison chart says it's indeed the only difference, note that the potentiometer is necessarily motorized in the HDR due to the remote.

It not worth it for me, but if you actually NEED the remote...
Have you considered the Grace m903 and the Lavry DA11, and maybe the Mytek Stereo 192 (if it ever comes out, currently expected for February).
I would say all those units are fairly close oin the sense that they all are pro/semi-pro DACs with USB and a headamp.
