Thanks for the links. That looks like a much smaller (read: better) alternative to the other speakers.

I think I will use the HiVi B3 driver with PVC pipe and a wooden board. Cheap, cheap, cheap.

I am in the zone of drunkenness where reading techy nerd type jargon comes out in a raspy secretive voice. I like this place.

 

The PVC pipe based version of the speaker dgardner95 linked to actually sounds kind of fun.

 

I wonder if 2 of these drivers would work in the 0.25cuft enclosure parts express sells.

 

I will disavow all knowledge of this conversation in the morning. Unless it turns out well, in which case I will happily accept responsibility.
