Sony CD3000 retermination to 4 pin XLR

Hi guys,

sorry if this has already been discussed, but I really can't find any info on this. Basically I want to reterminate my Sony CD3000s to 4 pin XLR.

I've done this on my HD650s already, but obviously is was a lot easier as there were 4 conductors in the stock cable anyway, so it was just a case of cutting off the SE jack, and soldering on the new 4 pin XLR. The Sony CD3Ks only have 3, with the cable for the other driver running through the band. I already have it all disassembled to change the band over, so it is not a problem running a new cable through the band (or will I have to make a new entry into the other cup?).

I can provide pictures of the disassembled phones and the wires going to each driver if you think you can help but are not familiar with the wire layout of the CD3Ks. I'm guessing it's just a case of running two wires from each driver, and I can discard the old ground?

Thanks for your help!

Ok, yep that is no problem. Do I just discard the ground wire and have L- L+ R- R+ coming off each driver to the 4 pin XLR jack yeah?
