Can my monitor act as a headphone amp?

I have a set of Behringer MS16s, and I listened to my sony MDR-V6 headphones through them the other day, and I thought it sounded better than I'ver ever heard before. Is it possible my Behringer monitors are amplifying and improving the overall sound experience?
