What to get first...?

I'm looking at getting the Matrix M-Stage, and a DAC (hoping for 24/96 for usb) for my computer setup. Which of the two would be better to get first?

What headphone do you have and what kind of sound card do you have with your pc??

K701's, and its just the on board sound card. It's "decent" as far as on boards go, but nothing special obviously

i think the problem is really about your sound card

if you get the amp first, there is the question of how you connect the pc to the amp??(rca out from the soundcard?? or 3.5mm line out?)

if you get the dac first, you have to get a dac with a onboard headphone amp, so stuff like the v-dac is out of the equation.

well, if i turn the volume up to full it's passable as listening volume. I think if I had a DAC i'd be okay until i got the funds to buy the amp
