NFB-3 96K(DIR9001) vs 192K(WM8805)

Hi Headfiers,

 

I need help. a quick one. because i just put an order with Audio GD.

 

what are the main difference between NFB-3 96K using DIR9001 and NFB-3 192K using WM8805? anyone has any experience?

 

this is the email from Audio-gd about the difference..

Pretty much just as they've said. WM8805 is probably the "better" one to most people.

 

Before when comparing the previous options (DIR9001 vs DIR8416), the DIR9001 was the lowest jitter module with the best sound as a default, DIR8416 was given as an option for people who wanted 192khz support and a slightly warmer sound at the cost of some detail loss and additional jitter. As I understand, WM8805 is the best of both worlds as it offers the same low jitter as DIR9001, 192khz support and a slightly warmer signature with very little detail loss.

 

For the headphones you're using, you'll probably prefer WM8805.

I just switch my order to 192Khz WM8805. biggrin.gif

 

and I'm going to use it not just with the headphones but also my new bookshelf speaker (local DIY).
