i just installed the version that's on the site, so far i'm liking it, still needs some work on the volume and could use a better theme.. as for the rest i'm happy:)

I've installed it as well on my 3rd gen classic, although I can't seem to get it to charge/play at the same time in my car.  Otherwise, it's pretty stable.

crap it!  I sold my 120gb classic to buy a 5.5g 80gb video..... wth!  now I have to sell this to buy the classic back

I'm guessing this doesn't work with digital out on the few docks that support it, but has anyone who owns one tried it? 160GB DAP with Rockbox and bit-perfect digital out sounds perfect.

How is the battery life with Rockbox? I heard there are some issues about it on the current unstable release.

I am experiencing this issue myself. Although I believe it may be my fault, I don't know the battery capacity to set it correctly in the configuration. But so far the battery life sucks, 4 hours maybe. If anyone know the 3G classic battery size, please reply.

So the firmware that we're using shows the battery range at 300mAh to 500mAh, in increments of 10.

Settings>General Settings>System>Battery>Battery Capacity

The 3rd gen 160gb Classic model I'm using has a stock battery of 850mAh.  I don't know what this means electrically, if I'm ruining my battery or what, but I'm switching back to the Apple firmware until it's stable.  The battery life sucks and takes forever to charge.  Ah well, come on stable release.

Thanks for replying. Looks like there is still some work to do. I heard rumors, that Apple might produce new classic with the new Toshiba 220GB 1,8'' HDD. If those are rockboxable as well, it would be sweet.
