I'm pleased that you like it. Be sure that you install the font pack to get the displays right. (This is true for many themes; everyone should install the font pack as a routine part of Rockbox installation.)

I see Aroldan hasn't posted any new builds in awhile.

So is this about it, then? Not complaining, my iPod is running smooth as ever and I don't really see much reason to change to a new release, but has the project officially reached the "maitenence" phase?

If so, boy has it been awesome turning this little piece of hardware into such a functional, customizable music player.

Just curious, of all the Aroldan builds, what do you all consider to be the best one, and why? For myself, I'm using the 130110 build after I tried the latest one and it screwed up my album art.

Cheers to you all!

I'm using Rockbox for my Sansa ClipZip and iPod Classic.

The Zip works near perfectly, but the iPod has skipping issues sometimes. Like, a song is playing, and then suddenly it'll jump to the next.

Has anyone else faced this issue? Has it been reported/fixed in any newer releases?

It's true, the versione that comes with emCore is old but for me at today is the only one that allows me to manage files with Mac, any other version doesn't work at all!!! bigsmile_face.gif I recommed Mac users to use that version if they want to add music from their Macs...

Which version are you referring to?

What about using the backup build from the emCore menu for file transfer and a newer build for playback? I don't have a Mac, but I'm just curious if this would work wink.gif

Sorry, haven't had time to watch this thread lately.  To be clear, the Classic is considered "unusable" by our project because the port is incomplete and no one has worked on it in a very long time.  Its not under "maintenance", its unmaintained.  Hopefully in the future someone will take interest in working on it however.

It's a shame how many people are turned away from Rockbox just because of this. I've had rockbox on my classic for so long now, with no issues.. If only more people knew it were possible.

Why do we need the complete port if so many of us have been using the rockbox without issues? wink_face.gif

Yeah, its considered 'unusable' by the project, but its pretty usable for daily use.

Hey guys,

Recently bought a 7th Gen Classic and I was wondering if any of you have experienced problems with the software randomly crashing and then the audio starts to stutter and freeze, only playing a large blaring noise.  I haven't figured out if it a problem with the theme I am using (detailstext) or perhaps it is something with the RockBox stability itself.

Hey not sure if this is relevant to you or not but which rockbox build did you use? The one from the first page of this thread or the one from EmCore? I had this exact problem with the one from EmCore but switching to the other build solved it.

Did you install the fontpack? Does it happen only with certain themes like detailstext?

Have you also tried one of the daily builds? Aroldan's builds are a bit more undervolted, a few Classics (including mine) crash on this (54MHz@950mV) but not on the daily with (54MHz@1050mV)

Now I can manage to have my ipod connected to my laptop for a while each time before the drive stops working. After that I need a reboot. I also notice my rockbox "system" info shows 32.1GB free (for the 7g 160gb) even it's actually less than 20GB free. That info stays there and does not change even every time after I copied more files to the ipod.

Just to double check, will Rockbox-ing my iPod render me able to play video format other then .mp4 ? say mpeg, avi, read it was possible on rickbox forum on other players, just wanna know if its possible for iPods. thanks!!
