bug fixes from what i understand in the change logs.

I installed the newest aroldan's release yesterday night and it froze on the reboot after the installation (same as the rest of you). After a reset, everything seemed fine, so no major problem. I didn't listen to it much, so I'm not sure of any sound differences... popcorn.gif

It appears to be only happening to us runin r859.  No biggie i guess,  but out of curiosity, i would like some details why.

Well, I was looking for a valid reason to update to the lastest emCORE release (even if the r859 is the latest official stable release). Maybe this "problem" is the reason I was looking for... biggrin.gif

I hear ya.  I too am debating a switch but i keep hearing "if it aint broken..." in my head so i been holding off till i can determine what significant changes if any have been made.  If there is no real advantage then ill probably just stay with r859.  I mean there must be a reason these newer builds havent been updated to the "stable release" status, right?

Also, im waiting on my BTG Audio custom removable cable modded W3 and mini LOD which Brian at BTG shipped out today and hopefully will be in hand by the end of the week.  I dont want to brick my Ipod before then.biggrin.gif

Exactly! I too have that feeling, and even now I'm not sure I'll update it (since the "problem" with the update was solved by a simple reset). If there aren't any more stability problems in the near future, I'll probably just keep the official release...

The new build is slower and smoother at the same time. everything is a bit slower but it doesn't much lag it used to have.

The album cover will not show with my customized playing screen theme (it would on the older one)

I can't believe people can actually hear the sound difference in different firmwares... impressive.

I never did, so... tongue.gif

i must say, i'm liking this current build! tongue_smile.gif i can hear "more"...can't quite put the right words to it. i've always have the same setup and listen to slow tracks till i fall asleep - the only thing that changed was the build. i can hear more details, sounds smoother too....i don't know if it's just me or this build really did something great!

I have been a long-time grateful beneficiary of Aroldan's builds. The Rockbox site development build now has the 10-band equalizer, 3-way crossfeed and proper charging mode, all just like my much enjoyed rockbox-ipod6g-55847d0M-120802 Aroldan build. For now, I am trying the Rockbox site development build. So far so good.

Just to be clear re: the lockup on the first reboot following the install of aroldan's latest build...

I'm running emCore 866 and got the lockup. So it seems the version of emCore is not necessarily the culprit.
