I finally fixed it by reformatting the drive.  Worked great after that.  Running stock iPod software now.

It's my Dad's and he was having problems with MediaMonkey handling more than Rockboxed iPod.  It freaked out and stopped syncing FLAC files (thinking it recreated the deleted iPod profile) so he is sending his 5.5 30GB for a new battery and 120GB drive.  That will be handled via MediaMonkey and synced with FLAC as he likes the sound from that one much more. The 80GB iPod will be the one he is syncing with iTunes and MP3's to fit the entire library.  Seems silly to me but that's how he wanted it done.

Same problem restoring the Apple software on my 160GB 6G.  I had to downgrade itunes to 10.1 (10.0 wouldn't install for me).

(Why?  Rockbox in USB disk mode not working in my car.  Sob :( )

Do i have to download 10.1 itunes? I cant get thru dfu..

It would be nice for me to know how to uninstall in the future once this bug is fixed. Sticky?

Anyway, that's not why I'm here. So I'm a new owner of a Rockboxed Classic, and it works fine except now I'm having trouble updating my database. I went to update all my file tags to add genres to browse by genres and synced the changes (Allway File Sync, just syncs two folders), but nothing really happened, even after more changes and more syncs. I kinda just had an "Eh, screw it." moment and decided to delete everything and re-copy it. Now my stuff is deleted, and it doesn't show up in the file browser or anything, but the Database thinks everything is still there and when I manually update it in Settings>General Settings>Database>Update Now it just spins the disk and sometimes just freezes for a while, loses functionality and I have to reset. I also tried Initialize Now and hit Update Now right after.

I'm using aroldan's latest build:

(sorry, editor being funny)

Is there a way to just totally reset the Database to 0, like a fresh slate, i.e. some config file to delete? Maybe then it wouldn't have such a hard time updating since it's not trying to find almost 80GB of files that aren't there.

On another note, I see other controls along the bottom with Play, Volume, etc. (on the default theme here FYI). How do I get to them, do I have to press another button and scroll or something?

Huh, it just started working after I changed the theme a few times (trying some I thought I might like).

I did reset it like 15 times though from reset from a freeze to rebooting for the themes, etc.

Now, how do you add patches? Like in aroldan's latest build there's a bunch of "patches"..where do those go?

Patches are included already, they're added seperately as a reference.

Btw, restoring to OF works fine here on iTunes 10.6, not sure what I'm doing differently.

I don't get it? I don't mean to bitch, but.. You people do know these's a search function on this site, right? rolleyes.gif Allows you to search through topics aswell.. I mean, if i search for "patches" for example, i find that the patches question has been asked and answered numerous times.. blink.gif

Personally I've never managed to install or uninstall emCORE from Windows 7. There's always some driver conflict / shenanigan.
