Different audio technica ATH-M50 amp question

HI , Kinda new , Just subscribed to ask a question that i know have been asked 1000 times but its slightly different :) actually I read here for many years now ... so the audio technica ATH-M50 does not require an amp , I know this ... problem is I require a decent source , and my sound card ( m audio audiophile 2496 ) does not have any connectivity to headphones unless I use a mixer or an headphone amp to be connected to it via RCA ... my other option is to connect the headphones to the motherboard soundcard , that I really don't want to do . So basically I figure that since I have a decent sound card all I need is an amp , somthing simple and not expensive ... OR I could just get a different sound card like asus xonar with dedicated headphone amplified output . what would you do ? I really dont wanna connect the headphones to my motherboard ...
