Stupid question about HD Track FLAC conversions (*Mac*)

Thread Starter

Hey all,

I have the HD Tracks FLAC sampler in 96/24.  I was just wondering - if I convert them straight to WAV or AIFF out of FLAC, will they still be 96/24?

Also, will iTunes play them as (or in) 96/24?

I'm not sure about WAV, but if the format (i.e. AIFF) supports 96/24 then they should still be 96/24.

iTunes can play 96/24 alright (I convert my FLACs to Apple Lossless), but remember to set your audio output in Audio/MIDI settings to 96/24 before opening iTunes to avoid needless conversions during playback.

It depends on your converter settings. There should be a 96/24 option in the converter while converting them.
