LCD-2 on Zana Deux?

My order is in for the LCD-2's, so hopefully in a few weeks I will be able to make some comments.  I'm sure others have plugged them into the Zana Deux.  I would be interested in what they have to say as well.

Steve, they sound great out of the Zana Deux, make sure you set to High Impedence if you can.  I felt they had a tiny bit of brightness to them but my listening buddy begged to differ but we also disagreed on the effect of the aftermarket cable!  That said I'd like to acquire a pair.

I had a chance to listen to the LCD-1 on both the Zana Deux and the Zana Deux Transformer models. I preferred the ZDT with the LCD-1. The ZDT had more authority and control over the planar driver. I'm not sure if the LCD-2 would create the same results with those amps though.

No, I didn't get a chance to try the LCD2 with the Zana. If I recall, Dallan has the LCD2 and I know he has a Zana. He's heard a lot of gear and gives good opinions, so I'd look back through his posts.

I have the LCD2 with balanced silver clad Zeus copper cable and used it with the ZDT.  The LCD2 sound terrific in this

setting.  I have also  used the LCD2 with the Twag cable  with a very good result and is much better than the stock cable.

The ZDT can drive the LCD2 easily  at 9-10 o'clockand .  I listened with rock or metal music e.g. Pink Floyd, Rush, AC/DC, Metallica

 the ZDT can drive the LCD2 with authority and control.    It's like driving the LCD2 with a solid state amplifier .

Enjoying the LCD-2 now with my new Zana Deux.  My initial impressions are excellent.  Still rolling various driver tubes but Iiking it better than the Leben.

it works well with the BA.

I don't own either.  Recently I was able to listen for about 30 uninterrupted minutes to the LCD-2 with the Zana Deux and they played very nice together. Based on that short non-meet listen I would recommend the combo. 

I've got an LCD-2 and ZD.  For the most part I like the pairing, although I think the ZD sounds best with hi-imp phones like the Senn 650.  My Violectric 200 drives the LCD with more authority/impact.  The ZD adds to the top end of the LCD-2, offering more detail and a larger soundstage vs the V200.  I usually prefer the V200 for rock and ZD for accoustic/vocals when listening to the LCD-2.

My favorites, and I've tried a bunch, are the 1957 Valvos and short brown base Mullard ECC35's.  

It's funny,  I'm actually selling my ZD to fund the purchase of a Leben since I've heard it drives planar headphones so well, and I've gone almost exclusively with the LCD-2 and HE-6 as of late.  Maybe I'll hang onto the ZD to compare them side by side, although I already know the ZD cannot drive the HE-6 properly.
