turntable needle issues

I've been having recurring issues with my Project III Debut turntable. I get a lot of static, which I read about in another thread, and am looking into a humidifier for. It also sounds like my needle is scraping into the records when I play them. My needle is 2 years old I believe so I don't know if replacing it would solve the issue? I also don't know if the balancing is off on my tonearm or if maybe I altered the angle of the needle when I cleaned it. I had these issues a while ago and they went away and came back again. Someone mentioned that the winter weather might be an issue and this seems very plausible. I can also record an audio sample of the noise if that would be beneficial, I just haven't gotten around to it yet. Any input would be greatly appreciated

Actually, if you could record an audio sample and post a link to it, I might be able to try to help you diagnose it.

Do you still have the metal platter? I've only had mine for a couple of weeks now but that's a huge cause for static, no doubt. I intend to replace it with the acrylic platter, which negates a lot of static apparently.

I've had issues where the felt mat sticks to the record when I pull it off sometimes.

Sorry I can't be of much more help.

If you have a detachable stylus, make sure that it is properly set. You may want to check the balance of your tonearm. They can get out of alignment. Then set the vertical tracking force. Then check for proper overhang of your stylus, vertical tracking angle then azimuth. It could also be that your anti-skating force is off.

I hear the static, could that be from the vinyl? There is a regular mechanical noise. Is your lp warped a little?

One other import thing, make sure that your turntable is level on the table it is resting on. I used to check this all the time. Put the level on your platter and adjust your turntable's feet.

Sounds to me like the record may be a little scratched, or dirty, and as wuwhere said, maybe also a little warped.  But there wasn't much music in the sample...how does the music itself sound?

Were you able to clean the needle with some proper cleaning solution?

the sound is not noticeable when the music is loud enough but can be heard in all pauses and in quieter songs. I initially thought it could be warping but it's happening on all my records and most of the ones I have listened to are brand new and it seems unlikely they are all that badly warped. I have tried adjusting the tonearm's weighting multiple times and it's always a very temporary fix and the scraping comes back. I will check the leveling as it might be a little off.
