Great, thank you for quick response
I'll check that from Jan himself as soon as he re-opens, which I understand should be next week.
Anyways, very much looking forward to receiving my new setup.
Btw, does the CD-players quality matter much if I connect it to StageDAC using S/PDIF?
If the D/A converter of your cd player is better as the converter of the Stagedac then it matters :). If not and I believe so, it doesnt matter. But to get sure you can make an A/B comparison..
Concerning your setup, I am sure that you will enjoy it :)
btw: If it is only one cable and not a pair, it is sure that you have a digital interconnect because I dont believe that Jan sent a subwoofer cable :)

Not according to my experiments. I compared a cheap £20 Sony DVD player to an Onkyo dock (claimed to measure only 10ps jitter) and couldn't detect any differences. The Stagedac with the W8804 seems to be quite immune to jitter, which nobody seems to know how that sounds like anyway.
I personally made made peace with all the jitter nonsense on this forum. If you are curious and want to find out for yourself just check this out:
http://hddaudio.net/HDD_Audio/Articles/Entries/2009/12/19_Can_you_hear_jitter_Part_2.html
I didnt regard the fact of the jitter when I wrote that. Overall I would say that the StageDac is made especially as a D/A converter and thats the focus. I am not sure and the comparison maybe a drama but it is like you connect your headphones to a "normal" amplifier instead of using a headphone amplifier. Further jitter shouldnt be a problem when it is connected via SPDIF..
Congratulations to all the purchasers of this great setup. I am enjoying it very much every day.
As far as jitter is concerned, as I mentioned before, the jitter of the source is almost irrelevant. If you are running this from a computer + M2Tech HiFace, then the signal is independently re-clocked at 2 interfaces: one by the HiFace oscillators and the other by the StageDAC oscillators. If you are running it from a CD player, it is reclocked at one interface: the StageDAC. This makes the signal jitter non-audible.
Contrast this to previous versions of DACs (a few years back) when the clock on the DAC used to be recovered from the signal. Basically, DACs used to have a VCO, or voltage controlled oscillator. The voltage on this oscillator is proportional to the clock drift between the signal and the local DAC clock.
Many people will not agree when I say that manufacturers who sell "transports with extremely low jitter" are basically taking their customers for a ride.Today, most DACs do a great job at jitter rejection, and there is no need to go in for exotic transports.

How do you judge your kit after a few months of use?
Do You have any problems with buzzing Concerto housing?
Best regards from Meier set user :)
I have no performance/SQ/buzzing issues whatsoever.
After a few months of use, I would ding points for the T1 only on the comfort factor. SQ is exceptional. With the Meier stack, sound is extremely neutral.
Neither do I..
