I'm getting two new amps this week (Luxman P-200 headphone for my headphones and Primare I21 integrated amp for speakers), and was wondering what is the best way to hook them up. There are two options:
1. Sources (DAC, tuner, iPod, turntable) --> Luxman (loop out) --> Primare
2. Sources (DAC, tuner, iPod, turntable) --> Primare (tape out) --> Luxman
Does it even make a difference in sound quality?
With Option 1, I can use headphones without turning on the speaker amp. On the other hand, Option 2 is more convenient because the Primare has more inputs (Luxman has only 2). With Option 2, I can also listen to all sources with either headphones or speakers.
