Sony X1051 too forward, causing sibilance?

Just recently noticed this.  Way back when I got it I really like the forward sound, but now it hurts my ears.  I noticed that it is very sibilant, sounding very harsh.  I remember, somebody mentioning that you can hear it hiss, not surprise since is so forward.  And that is with my TF10, so therefore, other headphones could still be a better match with the Sony.  On the other hand, I am really liking my Samsung P3 with TF10, its a very good combo.  Amping it, makes it alot better with it.  Just a thought...

Strange; I find my X1060 has a full smooth sound, compared to f.i. ipods, cowons etc.

are all musicsettings on off/neutral?

The sony x serie will cause sibilance for sensitive iems, so try adding an impedance adapter or cable will the sibilance disappear but the sound quality will suffer a little.
