Ideas on How to Beautify My Amp? - Page 2

The 1st of those looks to be a fully DIY custom built.

The 2nd looks like a Par-metal case with custom panels. http://www.par-metal.com/product-ttp-20series.php

The 3rd looks like a Hi-Fi 2000 case again with custom front and rear faceplates. http://www.modushop.biz/ecommerce/cat037_l2.php?n=1#2

The 4th also looks like a HiFi 2000 case but with a lot more custom work.

Custom panels are usually done by Front Panel Express or Camexpert.

Perhaps something a little more plug and play:

It is also available in black.

Regarding the painting suggestion, I ended up doing it because I got so sick of that purple crap.

Not sure if it was a good idea though.

Just as I suspected, it's still ugly, but possibly not ugly enough for me to rage and get a new case.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestions.

Thank you for the link.

That looks very DIYable.

Maybe something from here?: http://www.goldpt.com/enclosures.html

You would still have to machine the panels but that would probably be the case with any enclosure.

Edit:  I didn't see that you ended up painting it

Dude.  I think that one is perfect.

Yeah, I painted it, but I still hate it.

I just hate it less.

I'm building an amp right now. When it's done I plan to send the aluminum case to an instrument maker friend of mine to wrap it with a wooden case. You seem to like the wooden one. Find somebody who's good at woodworking who can simply replace the enclosure with something aesthetic and natural. Or PM me and I'll refer you to my luthier guy in Michigan. Getting one made in metal would probably be pretty costly, and given the shape I can't imagine you can find something off the shelf.

The Headamp front and back look okay but for the writing on the front. You could replace the knobs with wooden ones -- burl, maple? -- or silver or gold colored..

I agree with the poster above who questions putting a lot of time and money into a low-end amplifier. But if it amuses you, hey, it's your amp. And I can't think of any mid- to high-end 4-channel amps. Not that I've researched it.
