Firestone audio spitfire mk2 or E-mu 0404 as dac for a pc?

Hello, If you could help me choose a dac between those two, I would really appreciate it.

well, these are two completely different products..do you mean the PCI 0404 or the 0404USB? those two cards only play ASIO bit-matched, so for DS/WASAPI you're forced to select the right sample rate manually in the drivers, otherwise they will be resampled.

 

The 0404USB runs AK4396 and non-swappable 5532 opamps, and has tons of features you -most likely- don't need. but it seems to be using async USB drivers and isn't limited to 16/48 over USB like the Spitfire MKII.
