I finally have a TT!

With the sound of a $20 price tag tapped to the box being pulled off and the utterance of the word "SOLD". I am the proud new owner of a Pioneer PL-7 Direct Drive Turntable. Minus a stylus.

 

I do have one concern. What types of carts will I be able to mount to the tone arm? The table and original tone arm can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzMhSDSNzdY

 

I was hoping to get the Shure M35X or the well known Shure M97XE (these do come WITH a stylus correct?).

Yes, most cartridges are sold with the stylus (needle).  I have not seen many modern "audiophile" cartridges that have easily replaceable styli.  Might be different in the DJ world.

 

The Shure M97XE is a frequently recommended cartridge, although I have no experience with it.
