shure 535 or Westone 3 for pop, rock, hip hop, country & some dance music?

I have the shure 535 and they sound great but I also see reviews regarding that the westone 3 was better for the type of music I like (pop, rock, hip hop, country & some dance music) compare to the Shure 535 which is better for classical, jazz. & blues. The problem is I'm not a bass head and never liked to have to much bass (over powering bass). I want to hear what the artist intended for me to hear.

so I guess my question is, would the westone be better for me than the Shure 535?

I had both and I can say that I preferred the Westone 3 for Pop, Rock just because it was more "fun", the extra bass and the better treble made it more interesting for that genre. The W3 had really exceptional detail and clarity.

I'd wait for the Westone 4s to be released before making any purchases.

Between the W3s and SE535s...I still own my SE535s. wink.gif
