Ubuntu has issues. Allow me to rephrase that: nVIDIA has issues with Ubuntu. Everything runs fine until you install the proprietary driver which crashes the GUI on reboot so you go into kernel.
OK. So does this mean that I can fetch myself an optical cable, a DAC and start enjoying the glory of PC HiFi right now? I guess it's just plain good to see a digital output.
