Problem with tags using ID tags

So i just started my tedious transition to FLAC. So far all of my music is not showing any info in windows explorer (win7 64bit).

It does show up in foobar and hovering over a track dbpoweramp shows the info. kinda stumped as to why winblows can't seem to show it? and the tags are done in vorbis comments. most of my flac is coming from allflac.com

Edit: converting the files to ALAC gave me the ID tags back in explorer.

Do you use Foobar as your main program? If not, and you use iTunes, as long as the tags are showing up correctly you can just use the ALAC files in iTunes. Thats what I do.

Wait, you're ripping CDs to FLAC?

Pretty much dbpoweramp is the best program to convert FLAC to ALAC or any other format to retain the id tags. converting to .wav there is no way to do it.

I am getting flac off of allflac.com... None of the tracs show any tag id's in windows explorer. when i convert the Flac to ALAC for my iphone i can see the tags. I do not want to convert my entire flac collection to ALAC. just some albums.. so my problem remains..

You can try AudioShell and set it to view tags.  I don't know if it works with Windows 7...only a xp user here.
