Need amp/dac for akg k701's

Hi, i'm a new audiophile and am interested in purchasing an amp and dac for some k701's that im going to purchase. I've tried the k701's out at my local hi-fi shop aswell as a multitude of other cans and i'm sold on the k701s. I currently have some sennheiser hd 595 and ath-m50s which I drive with a fiio e7.  I have a total of 500$ to spend thats including the price of the headphones or 200$ for the amp/dac.  This is what i've considered.

 

-Buying a Audnist hud-mx1 than later buying a Matrix m-stage when I have enough money.

-Getting a Hrt music streamer 2 than later buying the Matrix m-stage. The problem is I don't know when i'll be able to purchase the amplifier so the DAC would be useless untill then.

 

 

I simply want to get the best sound I can out of the k701s for 200$ now, than be able to put more money into it later and upgrade it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)

Hey there, why don't you pick up a Fiio E9, its only $121 and you can plug you E7 into it to use the DAC. I've read they pair really well with K701s and have more than enough power to drive them. http://mp4nation.net/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=9_45&products_id=457

May I suggest that you consider first $500 for amp only. I have K701 with E9- the sound is just average. K701 is a hard rock!And with my initial impressions cheap amps are for cheap headphones too like my Grado SR60-the sound is phenomenal!

The E7/E9 ROCKS the socks of a k701.

I don't know what the AP is referring to.  The E9 not only powers k701s proper, but also throws enough juice at the very hard to power DT-990/600s
