Not satisfied with sound of iPod... what to buy? - Page 2

Yes thanks for pointing that out Nag, but by using the E7 analogue input directly bypassing the cheap headphone out you are still bypassing the bad sound of the Ipod. There is not a single mp3 player out there at the moment that would not benefit from the E7.

It sounds like the guy wants a cheap easy solution and thats what ive suggested. Whats silly about that?

Buying a whole new rig? now that would be silly.

His headphones are good enough and the Ipod touch is a brilliant media player that can be improved in sound only.

Edit: just found out about and added the free version of Equalizer for a trial run.

Get EQu. It's a lot more polished than Equalizer. It's much easier to use, plus the developer, Elephantcandy, actually posts in this forum. I use it on an iPad, and it works best if you don't make the processor too busy with other foreground apps. I can't tell you how much EQu affects the iPod Touch battery life, but there was a poster in another thread who had a jailbreak app that measured the increased current draw in mA when running it. I haven't noticed much of a change in the iPad's battery life. Even if EQu doesn't work out for you, it's only $3--small money compared to any gear mentioned here. The risk is worth it.

Well, I just added EQu. I probably won't have any time to really test it out until tomorrow, but my quick test sure looks encouraging.smile_phones.gif
