Sansa Fuze V1 replacement screen?

Hi all. My old good Fuze (v1) is dead. Hiding the truth doesn't help, I must be honest: I threw it to the toilet (3 points! 8P). Everything works perfectly expect the display. I dissassembled it and I can see signs of humidity near the display bus, so I guess that *probably* connecting a new display could solve the problem (I hope is not the board causing the black screen...).

The display has this reference written in the back: 54_53_04625. I googled it but I can not find where to get it.

So, my questions:

  • Any info about how could I make a better diagnostic to be sure if is the display or the board the faulty part?
  • Anyone knows where could I buy a Fuze v1 replacement display?

I'm thinking that I should also put a WTB message in the sales forum.

Thank you!

I think you will most likely be better off saving up

your money for a replacement.

But, if you want to poke at it a bit...

Is the screen black or white.

What I mean is, does the back light still work?

Try cleaning everything really well with alcohol

and a tooth brush.

Make sure there is no corrosion left behind.

As far as a replacement display is concerned, it's

probably an OEM item not available to the public.

The screen is black (no light/image when I turn on the player).

You are right about getting a replacement, and I already have a Clip+ on the way. Anyway I'll try to clean the faulty Fuze as you recommend, let's see if I'm lucky.

Thank you for your message and happy new year!
