I wanted to know if anyone had any experience creating custom "cases" for full sized headphones, what kind of materials to use etc. I wanted to keep things simple without adding room for DACs or amps, but I'd like to construct a decent case for my 595s simply for the hell of it, in the event I go on any trips for more than a day or two. I was thinking I'd use high density foam to cut out a niche for the headphones, cutting it so that they dont quite fit without compressing the foam. Then, I wanted to cut out a ring around the cans themselves, about a half inch thick, to reinforce with plastic rings, one on the inside, one on the outside. I'd use the gap between the rings to hold my cable. I would then cut out a niche to place my ipod in the center of the cans, and cut a little "ditch" to the "spool" so i could plug my ipod in, and potentially strap it down. Any recommendations for materials to use for this project or other parts to add to the case? (I'll post a diagram when its done)
