Hi all Head Fier,
I've been away from the headphone hobby for a few years and now want to re-join this hobby. In my collection I have a old HD600 (the foam covering the driver has deteriorated and need replacement) and the first generation DT880. I have no headphone amp on hand and want to source the best headphone amp possible with a budget below USD800 no matter it is a completed commercial unit or a DIY kit. I am a DIYer.
I am in Hong Kong and can buy most of the Little Dot models and Dark Vice models easily. The following are under my consideration list and other recommendations are welcome:
- Meier Audio Concerto
- Little Dot MKIV
- Little Dot MK7 (with balanced connection so that I may upgrade the HD600 to balanced connection later)
- One of the Dark Voice Model?
- DIY M3, B22 (Active ground version, full balanced version exceeded my budget)...other DIY project.
I want to get the Best sound quality possible. Preferrable, this amp should be very capable even if I upgrade to HD800 or T1 later.
Thank you for your input and advices.
Andy
