Small Rockbox Question

Thread Starter

I read on the Rockbox website that Rockbox supports FLAC and ALAC playback. So, does that mean that even if my DAP's native firmware does not support FLAC and ALAC playback then rockboxing the player will make that possible? I'm just not sure if Rockbox only supports FLAC and ALAC playback only if the player was originally designed to support such playback. Sorry for the (possibly stupid) question, guys! :)

Edit (another question): Does rockboxing your player change it's sound or are you stuck with the original "sound character" of your player?

In short: Yes (assuming rockbox is ported to your device).

It doesn't help that you avoid to say what DAP you intend to use with rockbox.

Not sure which one yet. Thinking either the Clip+ or Fuze+. Or, perhaps something else will catch my eye.

There is no Rockbox for the Fuze+.....only for the original Fuze.
