Some folks stretch silicone bands around the PS1000 to keep them from getting dinged up.  Could do the same for the 325chrome if you can find the right size band and a suitable color.  Could market them as dampeners as well as just covers for aesthetics.

I'll bet Ray-Ban will do a roaring trade if a large enough number of people buy these. Also, I may have found my desert island headphone. Actually, I'd never listen to it. I'd just know that, if I had it with me, I'd be able to easily signal any passing ship or plane and get off the desert island. cool.gif

There was a time there where I was actually thinking about transplanting the innerds of my MS2i's into the gold shells of the 325i.  I like those goldies that much !!

Sent my chrome MS2's back for the full refund.  George Alessandro said the same thing to me on the phone as well "They were having problems with the anodizing."  Anyway, he seemed pretty receptive about me not liking the chrome.  He also added the price of the MS-2 will be INCREASING soon.

I opted for the used pair of MS-2 Magnum w/ V2 drivers on the FS section.  smily_headphones1.gif

It looks as though our efforts are futile.

Ouch!  That's worse news than the switch to the chrome finish.  triportsad.gif

Probably means the 325is is due for the same price increase.  Sigh.

The 325 has been priced at $295 for over a decade.  Inflation has likely caught up with it.  Now to wonder about what the price will raise to.

The chrome wouldn't put me off from buying a new 325 (or MS2) if I wanted one.  I don't buy a Grado for style.  If given a choice though for a new finish I'd prefer a matte black or a black chrome style finish than the shiny silver chrome.  Just as long as the black finish looked like metal rather than glossy plastic.  The metal is an important visual characteristic of the 325.  If the finish ends up looking like plastic it loses some appeal and differentiation from the rest of the SR series.

local craigslist search finally turned up something useful...guess who got a chromie 325is w/ an adapter for $180! I can live with the looks...hopefully

wow...$180...nice.

There used to be a little audio shop here in Milwaukee that sold the Grado's and the owner there gave me 20% off my SR-325is because I got that quote somewhere else. It was a nice deal, then I modded the hell out of them and sold them off. I think I paid like $230 for a new set.

$180 is still a great deal compared to how much they sell for new.
