Dynamic headphone: what is it?

I keep reading about headphones being dynamic. What does that mean? For that matter what are all the different kinds of headphones minus open and closed. I know that much.

"Dynamic" headphones simply refers to headphones that uses dynamic drivers. Dynamic driver is the technology that's used in most speakers and headphones today. To get an easy to understand explanation of how they work... go here:
