Actually, we just seemed to have realized in the X3 thread that the L7 will benefit those who would like more mobility with the X3 when used with the E9. If not, the dock works fine too. Either way its always good to have more options. I plan to get one for both the E7 and X3 when it comes out.

What is the point of this connector?  I must be a noob, cause I don't get it.

It allows one to use another amp in place of the built in one on the e7. Thus just using the DAC portion in it. and using one with the X3 you would be able to get a line out from it and pair it with another amp.
