Headset Microphone: AKG C520, AKG C555L or other?

Hey guys,

I'm currently looking for a microphone that either has a 3.5mm connection or can be converted to one. It would be run of of a laptop, without an addition equipment. I would like to have ones that are headsets and have good sound quality. The two that I am looking at are:

AKG C520 / C520L

AKG C555L

Does anyone have any suggestions or know if these will run on a laptop, without external equipment, with an adapter? I am also open to one that has earphones, with preference being IEM for portability, but I was planning to just use my Shures.

Thanks a lot!

They will not work with your laptop without extra equipment that can provide it with the power it requires.  If you plugged these into your laptop with an adapter you'll get nothing.  My recommendation is to get a lapel mic, or a USB mic that clips on your laptop [like Samson Go Mic].  Or you could mod a headset so you can have a clip on mic or so something like the AKGs and have it attached to a band that goes behind your head and around your ears.
