New Schiit Lyr: Hybrid 6W Headphone Amp. Yes. Six. Watts. RMS. - Page 23

this amp is looking so seductive... MUST...NOT...GIVE...IN....

This amp is very tempting.  I have all my phones including orthos in balance yet I find myself wanting to buy this amp just for kicks.  It's just too bad that the Lyr doesn't come in balance configuration.

HI Jason

I know that I may sound impatient, cos I am, and that I may sound extremely eager to listen to my HE6 from a Lyr, cos I am, but do you have any updates on the expected charging and posting of Lyrs to those people that committed way back in late December?

Cheers

Probably not until March first, considering that's when their slated to be released. wink_face.gif

I can now confidently state we will be shipping on March 1, or (very) shortly before.

Will the 6moons review be out before the 1st?

Ok right of the bat I admit I have a very limited understanding of audio equipment in general. This is why this question is asked with some reluctance.

What it the (intended) use of the preamp out? When I think of preamps I think of vinyl (turntable input, preamp out to another amp or DAC/computer), is that wrong?

Cheers.

Old school big-ass power amps didn't have volume controls at all and needed a separate box for it.  The tradition continues on today for no good reason other than that it gives people more boxes to play with.

I have seen enough of the products that Jason and his partner (excuse me for not remembering names right now) made in their earlier careers. 6 Moons will just confirm my thoughts of how good it is to listen to my HE6 through some seriously hot Schiit.

Three weeks to go and counting!!

I'm *this* close to pre-order the Lyr for my upcoming LCD-2 (whenever it decides to finally ship that is), but the pessimist in me is unsure how well they will sound together.

I mean, I'm sure they'll have great synergy, and this is nothing but me being paranoid, but knowing my luck I'll get it only to find out they make the HE6 sound like two vikings flying out of exploding trucks towards each other while playing sweet riffs on their axes (in other words, awesome as Schiit), but yet make the LCD-2's sound like a mutated baby dieing.
