The 1982 release was the one where they replaced Stokowski's soundtrack with a vastly inferior digital soundtrack by Irwin Kostal. I saw it that year too. I remember seeing it in the early 70s too.

No, I meant the theatrical release! :) I'm old enough to remember a time when if you wanted to see a movie, you had to hope someone showed it on TV or it came to a theater!

 

(Btw, saw you're in Edinburgh! Fantastic city ... my husband and I spent 10 days in Scotland for our honeymoon, and we could have happily spent all of it in Edinburgh!)

ahh, well i would have been 2 so in the cimema for me.  im glad you enjoyed the place, it is a lovely, lovely city.  you both should come visit again, do the festival etc.
