Hello all,

I have a usb hard drive which i want to fill with mp3 music to play through my home stereo but the stereo does not detect any music on the usb drive although if i use a memory stick, it will detect and play the files ok.

can anyone help please?

Are the file types the same on the stick as the HD?  Otherwise it's probably the directory structure on the hard drive that is the problem.  check the user manual of your receiver for info.

If you plug a memory stick into your PC or a USB HD for the first time, you will notice that Windows is installing all kind of drivers.

Memory stick and USB HD use a complete different set of drivers.

It is perfectly possible that your receiver does support USB memory stocks but not a USB HD.

Check the manual.
