I am working on getting my ATTO benchmark published. Please wait.

You won't notice a difference until you run a software application that exceeds your total RAM and it will crash. Otherwise, your computer should be much faster only if you have more than 8 GB of RAM and a solid state hard drive that is fast. Turning off my Windows page file really helped to speed up my computer as you can see with my latest PC Mark Vantage score. The trick is that I did not configure my nVIDIA GeForce GT 325 M GPU to the highest performance settings so I know that I can raise up my score some more as well as my 3D Mark 06 score too.

More occupied ram dimms = more work for northbridge = lower cpu bench scores.

At least for SuperPi, can't say I've spent much time on 3dmark06, or any graphics benches for that matter.

I don't really see how the page file would effect anything. From what I understand it's just an over-flow buffer, if your pc needs more ram space it's there. It doesn't do anything actively, pretty sure I've read that some programs exclusively use page file buffers, so I wouldn't disable it...

That does not make any sense to me. More RAM increased my PC Mark Vantage scores dramatically. I have not run Super Pi yet. 3DMark 06 tests the GPU with some testing of the CPU on two benchmarks. A more powerful GPU and more RAM would increase the scores.

Interesting...

nVIDIA released their new 266.58 WHQL driver for Microsoft Windows 7 64 bit today. I re-ran 3DMark 06 and I got 6,081 3D Marks under maximum performance settings:

I am going to try to download AS SSD and post my results soon.

I cannot find a copy of AS SSD whatsoever. It seems to be unavailable. If someone has a copy of the latest version, then please reply so that I can download it directly from you. Thank you.

Tweak from SSD Technology Forum kindly gave me a copy of AS SSD. Here are my test results:

As I said, for superPi. Which is only cpu, most (if not all) of the info can be stored in the cpu's cache, so no need for more ram. It's different than vantage and 3Dmark, it's how fast your cpu calculated pi to whatever, instead of running through tests and assigning values.

Though sorry I didn't notice you were on a laptop. Not too much point to super-pi, basically just something fun to do with over-clocking.
