@Soundmangt4: How much did you pay to get your custom ear tips? And how long did they take to make them?

I may get some flame for this, but if you're getting enyo, and looking for custom tips, why not just get the TF10's remolded via null-audio? IIRC, its like $170 + shipping. They use Unique Melodies to remold the IEM's, and they come with the enyo cable, a case and a cleaning tool.

The only downside is the turnaround time..

I have the enyo and despite being better than stock I wasn't really impressed with it. The cable is very thin and stiff, and I always felt like the microphonics were more of a problem than other cable i've had. Also the viablue plug is pretty heavy/awkward for such a thin cable, and there is no memory wire in the bend so if it doesn't fit your ear it will mess with your fit. Overall it's much better than the stock pos, but I think the Westone ES is a better cable, cheaper, and you don't have to wait 3-4 weeks to get it from NA.

Also, IMO custom tips aren't really that important unless you're specifically having isolation/fit problems with the TF10 shape/tips.

Not sure if I missed it but have you tried amping them?  FWIR amping makes a difference with BA IEMS.

Not to put down Null Audio or anything. But in all truthfulness they have horrible communication skills... They rarely ever reply to your e-mails. I don't know if I'd trust them with reshells... Having them directly responsible for one of my orders is one thing, having them responsible of my molds and a good pair of IEMs is another... Just a personal preference, and I'm sure others have had better experiences with NA but the delay from the US to NA to UM to NA to US is a little redic. Too many third party representatives.

I'm not really too trusting as far as shipping them off somewhere to get them remolded. Besides, I'm afraid that they may change up the sound signature. So Custom Tips are the easiest and safest.

@ChavaC: Is the Enyo cable stiffer than the stock cable?

@sphinxvc: What is a good, portable amp for these iems?

I paid £95 (GBP) for my custom ACS tips, which included having the moulds taken, the manufacture of the tips and all postage included, and overall it took around a month from having the moulds taken to the delivery of the tips.

Hallo mate.  I used ACS for custom tips for my IE8's. After a remould and several attempts at tips, I gave up. This was my decision. ACS were happy to continue trying to get a good fit. So I would reccomend ACS as a company but advise that you may have to have several tries at getting a good fit. I don't know where you are in the world. I am in the UK. ACS turnaround is quoted as three weeks IIRC. In reality it was usually quicker. Particuarly with remoulds.

I did find that the tips gave a very worthwhile improvement to the sound of the 'phones. Shame I could not get a consistent seal. HTH you. smile_phones.gif

@krismusic: I live in the US. About how much were remoulds?

@Soundmangt4: £95 ≈ $145. Wow, that's quite a bit more than I was thinking it would take. Would you say the Custom tips gave at least $100 worth of improvement?

Yes, I think they are good value for money, as they made such a huge difference, but remember, just because they were $145 in the UK, doesn't mean that you would pay anywhere near that in the US. I spend a fair bit of time in the US and generally find that if something cost £100 in the UK, it's usually $100 in the US, so I am sure you can find somewhere that make custom tips for around that kind of money.

We regularly refer the this country as "rip-off Britain", as everything is always sooooo expensive.

Just to give you an idea, petrol (or gas as you call it) is around £1.28/litre over here, which works out at around $7.55/gallon! eek.gif

Wow! I feel bad for you guys...assuming that your wages equal ours. But, I found a store off of ACS's website and I shall ask them how much it will cost for them to make me a pair of customs. Hopefully they are around $100.
