Hi-Fi at Best Buy....

So I received a $50 Best Buy gift card for Christmas. Any ideas on what to use it for? I'm open to suggestions. Maybe even the purchase of a more expensive item. Shop for me!

Koss Pro DJ100

Koss PortaPro

These AKG earbuds.... Hmm...

ATH M40

Some Sony Hybrid tips

Maybe something in Car Audio?

Anything else?

Maybe try looking at some of the budget amps? Amps will definitely improve your listening experience.

I'm getting an E7 soon, and plan on building a CMoy. I think the Pro DJ 100's are supposed to sound excellent amped, but I may be wrong.

The DJ 1000s are really just the best headphone in the 50 dollars price range, well worth your 50 bucks.

Do you think that they are better than/how do they compare to an unamped PortaPro?

Try out the new Koss UR55. They have it at the best buy near me.

I had been reading about them on here. I don't have an open set, should I go for them? Most important to me is separation and detail. I don't need mega-bass. I want overall clarity.

I'm going to spring on the DJ 1000's unless anyone else has any final remarks on un-headphone related sales going on at Best Buy?

I read a review on here about them, they're pretty much an improvement on the PortaPros. I've read that the PRODJ100s are hard to drive, so if you don't have an amp, I'd recommend the UR55.

As I said, I just got my E7 today, but I'm not sure that gives enough juice.

Ah, sorry I didn't catch that. I'm assuming it would. It's not super demanding, just can't be used directly from an iPod, etc. It's up to you. Both of those sets are pretty good from what I hear.

I've had a set of PortaPro's and quite liked them for what they were. It's just that the DJ100 is supposed to be more detailed, and since my E7 is new, it seems like a good way to see what kind of difference it can make.

Yeah, go for it. Let us know how it is. biggrin.gif
