first post here.  i've been trying to find a two head-set solution for watching tv and using pc through the tv for around $100.  after a bunch of searching, i got it in my head that the Clarion WH204 Dual Channel Infrared Headphones (for automobiles) would work at home.  i figured that the tv and pc would emit infrared signals and i wouldn't need the transmitter.

well, i think i really dropped the ball on this one.

this headset requires a 12V power supply and the transmitter doesn't plug into the wall or anything.  my knowledge of electronics and all things electric is next to none.  i bought these after reading a review on amazon where a guy claimed to be using this model at home; he stated that he was able to do this because, well, here's the review

This is a convenient way to obtain a pair of infrared headphones for use in a home which already has AC powered infrared projectors attached to television sets...
I did not install the provided unit in my automobile and am thus unable to comment on its utility...The two headphones which I purchased work perfectly well in my home.
.

knowing nothing about infrared projectors or the implications of AC versus DC power, i went ahead and ordered these things.

anyway, they're back in the box now.  i just thought i'd mention it to see if anyone here might have a solution before i lose another $40. sending these back.

incidentally, i have no reason to use these in my car.

any advice would be Greatly appreciated.  i still have a glimmer of hope left in me that i might be able to keep these...they are very comfortable and nice.

thank you in advance.
