Help Identifying my Ipod?

I have been looking into the iMod and diyMod, and I am having trouble figuring out exactly what gen my ipod is.  It is an 80 gb "classic." I've been looking at apple's website and it's this one.  I'm thinking that means it's a 5.5 gen, but I want to get a second opinion before I tear into it.  The serial number ends in YMV if that helps you at all.

And I apologize if there's a thread somewhere explaining this, when I searched I didn't see anything.

you just linked us back to this thread. But if its a 80gb, it should be an ipod video which makes it a gen 5.5. However it could be a gen 6 ipod classic too.

5.5G still has a glossy plastic front cover and was the iPod Video (or iPod with video, as Apple likes to call it). The one you linked to is a 6G model.

This is the 5G and 5.5G.

Blast. I was hoping I bought the right one, but oh well.  I guess I just have to buy another PMP if I want high(er) quality sound.  Thanks for the help guys!
