DACMagic vs Audio GD Compass

Hi I am currently considering buying either of these DACs used to complement my current setup, which is PC (foobar) > DAC should be here > Darkvoice 337 > Headphones... so the question is which of these DACs would be better for pairing with a Darkvoice 337? I can obtain both around the same price used. Which DAC can also be used as a preamp for speakers? Cus I'll probably be connecting speakers to the DAC. The headphones I'm using are in my sig :)

IMO, the DacMagic is slightly better sounding than the Compass. It also has a slightly better resale value & wider market if you buy and sell things weekly like I do. :)

However, the Compass is the only one with preamp capability, and also headphone output.

For me, the added functionality of the Compass would win.

However, if your used price is anywhere in the market of a new Audio-gd NFB-11 or NFB-12....those would probably be the better combination of performance & functionality.

hahaha I sprung for the DacMagic, cuz I had to consider its resale value. Got it for around 180USD used hope it's a good price...Regardless I have to say that it really improves the sound, makes songs that much cleaner and smoother sounding. Really liking it so far smily_headphones1.gif
