My HE6 has been modded (Fuzzor, grills off, vegan pads). Also has ALO ref 8 cable. No harshness when I drive it from the Taurus SS amp (but the Taurus can't deliver the grunt to make the HE6 truly shine).

 

I'm thinking it might be a burn in issue as my WA5 is relatively new (50 to 80 hours). Good to know that this is not something that other folks are experiencing - makes me think even more that it is likely to fix itself with burn in.

 

I haven't heard SE6SN7 SEP274B but on my set up (Tungsol BGRP 6SN7 and GEC U52) there is zero harshness with the HE6.
